Cookie Policy

This site does not use cookies at all. Here is what it uses instead.

No cookies are set by this site. Not essential ones, not analytics ones, not advertising ones. If you inspect this site in your browser's developer tools, the cookie list for it will be empty.

Why there is no cookie banner

Consent banners exist because cookies and similar technologies are used to store or access information on your device for purposes you might object to — usually tracking. This site does none of that, so there is nothing to ask consent for and a banner would be theatre.

We would rather explain the position clearly on a page you can read than interrupt you with a dialogue that most people dismiss without reading.

What we use instead

The site uses LocalStorage, which is a different mechanism with meaningfully different properties.

Cookies compared with LocalStorage
CookiesLocalStorage
Sent to a serverYes, automatically with every requestNo, never
Readable by the site owner remotelyYesNo
Can be shared across sitesYes, via third-party cookiesNo, strictly per-site
ExpiresOn a set dateOnly when you clear it
Used hereNoYes

The practical point is the first row. A cookie travels to a server with every request you make, which is what makes tracking possible. LocalStorage does not leave your device unless a script deliberately sends it, and ours does not — there is no server to send it to.

What is stored

High scores, favourites, recently played games, per-game run counts and your sound and control preferences. The privacy policy lists every key and its contents in full.

None of it identifies you. It is game identifiers and numbers.

How to clear it

  • In Chrome or Edge: Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies, See all site data and permissions, then find this site and delete.
  • In Firefox: Settings, Privacy & Security, Cookies and Site Data, Manage Data, then find this site and remove.
  • In Safari: Settings, Privacy, Manage Website Data, then find this site and remove.
  • Or use the clear buttons on the favourites and recently played pages for a partial clear.

Clearing site data removes your high scores permanently. We have no backup — we never had a copy.

If this changes

If we ever introduce advertising or analytics, those services may set cookies, and at that point this page and the privacy policy will be updated to describe exactly what is set and by whom, and an appropriate consent mechanism will be added. We will not do it quietly.
