Editorial Policy

How content on this site is made, reviewed and corrected.

Scope

This policy covers everything published on this site: guides, game pages, category pages and site information. It applies to text we write and to anything we would publish from a contributor.

Originality

Every word on this site is written for it. We do not copy, spin or paraphrase content from other sites. We do not publish machine-generated text that has not been written, checked and edited by a person who understands the subject.

The same applies to the games. All code, artwork, level design, characters and audio are original work created for this site. We do not use copyrighted material from other games.

Accuracy

Because we build the games we write about, most factual claims on this site can be verified directly against source code. Where an article states a specific number — a combo window, a difficulty multiplier, a pickup radius, a generator constraint — that figure is taken from the game's configuration rather than estimated.

Where we describe how something feels rather than what it does, we say so. A sentence about a jump feeling responsive is a judgement; a sentence about a jump being cut to 45 percent of its upward velocity on button release is a fact. Mixing the two without distinction is how gaming writing becomes unreliable.

What we will not publish

  • Invented statistics. We do not state player numbers, download counts, popularity rankings or market figures we cannot substantiate. Our "most played" page is built from your own browser's data and says so.
  • Fabricated citations. We do not cite studies, papers or experts we have not read. If we cannot support a claim, we remove the claim.
  • Fake reviews, ratings or testimonials. There are no star ratings, review counts or user testimonials anywhere on this site, and no review markup in our structured data, because we have none to report.
  • Claims about psychology or health. We describe how reward loops are constructed. We do not make claims about their effects on the brain or on behaviour, which would need clinical evidence we do not have.
  • Financial content. Nothing on this site is financial advice, and we do not write about real currency, coin valuation or investment.
  • Thin or duplicate pages. Every page here exists to answer a distinct question. We do not generate near-identical pages to cover keyword variations.

How an article is made

  1. Identify a question a reader actually has, and confirm we can answer it well.
  2. Establish the search intent — informational, strategic, comparative or navigational.
  3. Check the relevant game code for every mechanical claim the article will make.
  4. Write the article, distinguishing fact from judgement throughout.
  5. Add metadata, structured data, internal links and an author attribution.
  6. Review for accuracy against the code a second time before publishing.
  7. Publish, and add the page to the sitemap.

Updates

We update an article when a game it describes is retuned, when information in it becomes outdated, when a link it relies on breaks, or when we find a better way to explain something.

The "updated" date on an article changes only for a substantive edit. Fixing a typo does not move it. Artificially refreshing dates to look current is dishonest, and we do not do it.

Corrections

If we publish something wrong, we fix it. Material corrections — anything that would change a reader's understanding or decision — are noted on the page. Minor fixes are made silently.

To report an error, email hello@coincollectorarcade.xyz with the page and what is wrong.

Editorial independence and commercial disclosure

As of the last review date on this page, this site carries no advertising, has no sponsors, no affiliate relationships and no paid placements. Nothing on this site has been paid for by a third party.

The page layouts include reserved containers for advertising, which are currently empty. If we ever place advertising on this site, it will be clearly labelled as advertising, kept visually separate from content, never placed where it could be mistaken for a game control, and disclosed here and in the privacy policy. Advertising would never influence what we write or which games we feature.

Publishing frequency

We publish when we have something worth publishing. Our working target is up to two well-made articles a day when there is genuinely that much useful material, and considerably fewer when there is not. Quality takes priority over frequency every time — a thin article published to hit a quota is worse than no article.
