About Coin Catcher
Coin Catcher looks like the simplest game here and is really an exercise in triage. Coins, silver coins, tokens, gems, cracked slugs and falling debris all come down at once, and there is no version of the screen where you can reach everything. The skill is deciding, in a fraction of a second, which pickup is worth crossing for and which one to write off. Cracked slugs are the twist: they look like coins at a glance, catching one breaks your combo, and the only tell is the crack drawn on the face.
How to play
- Move your catcher left and right along the bottom of the screen.
- Catch coins, silver coins, tokens and gems. Each is worth progressively more.
- Cracked slugs are grey with a visible crack. Catching one scores nothing and breaks your combo.
- Falling debris costs a life on contact. You have three.
- Coins that reach the floor are lost and break your streak. Slugs that reach the floor cost nothing.
How to collect coins in Coin Catcher
Your catcher has a wide collection radius, so anything that lands within roughly half its width counts. Items fall in singles most of the time, but about a quarter of spawns are a short staggered cluster of four — those are where the big combos come from, and also where it is easiest to accidentally sweep up a slug.
Collectibles in this game
| Collectible | What it is worth |
|---|---|
| Coins | The baseline collectible, worth one unit of value. |
| Silver Coins | Worth two coins. Appears mixed into ordinary coin lines. |
| Bonus Tokens | Worth five coins and counts double toward the combo streak. |
| Gems | Worth ten coins and counts double toward the combo streak. |
Every coin here is virtual. Coins, gems, tokens and treasure in this game are in-game collectibles with a point value inside the game and no monetary value of any kind. They cannot be bought, sold, exchanged or withdrawn, and this site has no currency system.
Power-ups in Coin Catcher
Power-ups appear during a run and activate the moment you touch one. None of them can be bought, none carry over between runs, and collecting one you already have refreshes its duration rather than stacking it.
-
MagnetPulls nearby coins, tokens and gems toward you for seven seconds. Treasure chests are never affected.
-
ShieldAbsorbs one hit and then breaks. It saves the run, but the combo streak still resets.
-
Double ValueDoubles the value of every collectible for eight seconds. Applies before the combo multiplier, so the two stack.
-
Coin VacuumA much wider magnet with a shorter duration. Built for one big sweep rather than sustained help.
How scoring works
Coins are worth 12 points before multipliers, silver 24, tokens 60 and gems 120. There is no distance or time component here — collection is the entire score.
Points for each pickup are its base value, multiplied by any active double-value effect, multiplied by your current combo tier. Distance and completion bonuses are awarded flat, outside that chain.
The combo system
The combo window is 2.4 seconds with tiers at 6, 14, 25, 40 and 58. Both a dropped coin and a caught slug break the streak, which means the safest play and the highest-scoring play are not always the same one.
Difficulty
Easy
Easy. Three lives, forgiving collection, and no movement complexity. The fall speed increases over time, so long runs eventually become genuinely demanding.
Tips for a better score
- Look at the shape, not the colour. Slugs are the same size as coins but have a visible crack across the face.
- Let a distant coin go. Crossing the screen for one coin usually costs you two closer ones and the streak along with them.
- Clusters of four are worth prioritising over single gems, because four pickups move you toward the next combo tier.
- The Coin Vacuum is the strongest power-up here — it will pull in an entire cluster you could not physically reach. It will not pull slugs.
- When debris and a coin are falling in the same column, take the loss. A life is worth far more than a coin.

Coin Catcher — frequently asked questions
What is a cracked slug?
A worthless fake pickup that resembles a coin. It scores nothing and breaks your combo. It is drawn grey with a crack across it, and it is never pulled by the magnet.
Does dropping a coin cost me anything?
It breaks your combo streak but costs no life. Dropping a slug costs nothing at all.
Are the coins worth real money?
No. Everything you catch is a virtual in-game collectible worth points inside the game only.
Does the magnet pull the slugs in?
No. Slugs are deliberately not magnetisable, so a magnet run can never sabotage you.
