About Coin Maze
Coin Maze is the one game in the catalogue where planning beats reflexes. There is no gravity and no jumping — you move freely in four directions through a generated maze, and the exit stays locked until every coin on the floor is collected. The generator opens roughly one dead end in five into a loop, which means there is always more than one route through and the efficient one is rarely obvious. Patrols wander the corridors on fixed paths rather than hunting you, so a bad encounter is a planning failure rather than bad luck.
How to play
- Move with the arrow keys or WASD. On touch, drag and your collector moves toward your finger.
- Collect every coin on the floor. The exit pad stays locked, and visibly greyed out, until you do.
- Find the key to open the locked door blocking the route to the exit.
- Patrols move along the corridors and reverse at junctions. Touching one ends the run unless you have a shield.
- Clear all three floors to finish. Each floor is larger and has more patrols than the last.
How to collect coins in Coin Maze
Coins sit on individual floor tiles, roughly six in every ten open tiles. Because the maze is guaranteed fully connected, every single coin is genuinely reachable — there is never a coin walled off behind a section you cannot enter. Gems, worth ten coins each, are scattered three to a floor on random tiles.
Collectibles in this game
| Collectible | What it is worth |
|---|---|
| Coins | The baseline collectible, worth one unit of value. |
| Gems | Worth ten coins and counts double toward the combo streak. |
Every coin here is virtual. Coins, gems, tokens and treasure in this game are in-game collectibles with a point value inside the game and no monetary value of any kind. They cannot be bought, sold, exchanged or withdrawn, and this site has no currency system.
Power-ups in Coin Maze
Power-ups appear during a run and activate the moment you touch one. None of them can be bought, none carry over between runs, and collecting one you already have refreshes its duration rather than stacking it.
-
MagnetPulls nearby coins, tokens and gems toward you for seven seconds. Treasure chests are never affected.
-
ShieldAbsorbs one hit and then breaks. It saves the run, but the combo streak still resets.
-
Speed BoostRaises your maximum movement speed for five seconds.
How scoring works
Coins are worth 14 points before multipliers, the highest base value of any game here, because the collection rate is slower. Finding a key is worth 150, opening a door 100, and clearing a floor 600 plus twelve points for every second left on the clock.
Points for each pickup are its base value, multiplied by any active double-value effect, multiplied by your current combo tier. Distance and completion bonuses are awarded flat, outside that chain.
The combo system
The combo window is 2.8 seconds with tiers at 6, 14, 26, 42 and 60. Corridors that hold consecutive coins let the streak build naturally; crossing an empty stretch to reach a new pocket is what usually breaks it.
Difficulty
Medium
Medium. The mazes themselves are not hard to solve, but the 95-second clock and the growing patrol count on later floors mean an inefficient route is genuinely punishing.
Tips for a better score
- Sweep the outer edge of the maze first. Corridors along the wall have fewer junctions, so patrols encounter you less often there.
- The time bonus is twelve points per second. Clearing a floor thirty seconds early is worth more than a gem, so speed pays.
- Watch a patrol for one reversal before committing to its corridor. They pick a new direction at junctions, so their path is predictable once you have seen a turn.
- The speed power-up is more valuable here than the magnet, because your problem is covering ground rather than reaching coins.
- The key is always placed well away from the direct route. Go for it early rather than discovering you need it with ten seconds left.

Coin Maze — frequently asked questions
Can a coin ever be unreachable?
No. The maze generator produces a fully connected layout before any coin is placed, and coins only go on open floor tiles, so every coin has a route to it.
Do the patrols chase me?
No. They travel along corridors and choose a new direction when they hit a wall. They do not path-find toward you, which keeps the game about planning rather than panic.
What happens if the clock runs out?
The run ends and your score is saved. The clock resets to the full 95 seconds at the start of each new floor.
Are the coins real money?
No. They are virtual in-game collectibles that count toward your score only.
