About Treasure Hopper

Treasure Hopper is a vertical climb with no jump button — your collector bounces automatically every time it lands, and all you control is the horizontal drift. The tuning that defines it is the crumble rate: about a third of the platforms collapse roughly half a second after you touch them, and the treasure chests and gems are deliberately placed on the platforms most likely to give way. That turns every valuable pickup into a commitment you make before you land, not after.

How to play

  1. You bounce automatically on contact with any platform. There is no jump control.
  2. Steer left and right to line up your next landing. On touch devices, drag anywhere on the screen.
  3. The camera only ever climbs. Falling below the bottom of the screen ends the run.
  4. Crumbling platforms shake when you land on them and collapse shortly after. Bounce off them immediately.
  5. Running off either side of the screen wraps you around to the other side.

How to collect coins in Treasure Hopper

Coins sit in short lines and arcs just above each platform, so a normal bounce usually collects them without any extra effort. Gems are worth ten coins and treasure chests twenty-five. Treasure is not affected by the magnet, so you have to physically reach it. Both are placed above crumbling platforms, meaning you generally get one bounce to take them.

Collectibles in this game

Collectible types and values
CollectibleWhat it is worth
CoinsThe baseline collectible, worth one unit of value.
GemsWorth ten coins and counts double toward the combo streak.
TreasureWorth twenty-five coins and counts triple toward the combo. Never affected by the magnet.

Every coin here is virtual. Coins, gems, tokens and treasure in this game are in-game collectibles with a point value inside the game and no monetary value of any kind. They cannot be bought, sold, exchanged or withdrawn, and this site has no currency system.

Power-ups in Treasure Hopper

Power-ups appear during a run and activate the moment you touch one. None of them can be bought, none carry over between runs, and collecting one you already have refreshes its duration rather than stacking it.

  • MagnetPulls nearby coins, tokens and gems toward you for seven seconds. Treasure chests are never affected.
  • ShieldAbsorbs one hit and then breaks. It saves the run, but the combo streak still resets.
  • Double ValueDoubles the value of every collectible for eight seconds. Applies before the combo multiplier, so the two stack.

How scoring works

Coins are worth 12 points, gems 120 and treasure 300 before multipliers, and you earn two points per metre climbed. Height is a reliable earner, which means a steady climb outscores a risky treasure hunt more often than you would expect.

Points for each pickup are its base value, multiplied by any active double-value effect, multiplied by your current combo tier. Distance and completion bonuses are awarded flat, outside that chain.

The combo system

The combo window is 2.6 seconds with tiers at 4, 9, 16, 26 and 38. Because treasure counts for three toward the combo, a single chest can push you up a tier on its own.

Difficulty

Medium

Medium. The bouncing itself is forgiving and the screen wrap means you are never cornered, but the high crumble rate punishes hesitation and the climb speeds up as the difficulty ramps.

Tips for a better score

  • Pick your next platform while you are still rising, not while falling. By the time you are dropping it is usually too late to correct.
  • Screen wrap is a tool, not an accident. When the only platform above you is at the far edge, running off the near edge is often the shorter route.
  • If a treasure chest sits above a crumbling platform with nothing solid nearby, skip it. The points are not worth restarting a good climb.
  • The magnet is the best power-up in this game because it pulls coins toward you mid-bounce, when you have no control over your vertical position.
  • When the screen scrolls fast, aim for the widest platform you can see rather than the richest one.

Features

  • Automatic bouncing — no jump button
  • Roughly a third of platforms crumble under you
  • Screen wrapping at both edges
  • Camera climbs only, so falling behind ends the run
  • Local high scores for height, coins and treasure

Treasure Hopper — frequently asked questions

Why can I not jump?

Bouncing is automatic by design. Removing the jump button leaves steering as the only input, which is what makes the platform-choice decision the whole game.

Is the treasure worth real money?

No. Treasure chests, gems and coins here are virtual in-game collectibles worth points. They have no monetary value of any kind.

How do I tell which platforms crumble?

Crumbling platforms are a different colour — warm brown rather than the theme accent — and they shake visibly once you land on them.

Does the camera ever move down?

No. It only climbs. That is what makes falling fatal, and it is why the game never lets you retreat to a platform you have already passed.
